The Light Shines in the Darkness - The Message of Jesus

Does it seem like everyone has turned away from God?

Are you up to your neck in sorrow, worry and fear?

Does it seem like this world is spreading more and more?

Don’t be discouraged! The Kingdom of God has come near, and Jesus is the light:

Jesus is the light

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. (John 1:9 ESV)

And Jesus, the light from God, is shining into this darkness:

Darkness has not overcome the light

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5 ESV)

Did you notice that? “The darkness has not overcome it,” the apostle John says here. Why not? Because Jesus is God and Lord, and soon every man and woman will see Him when he returns in glory. Then he will judge evil and reign forever.

Is this just a nice, but naïve, hope?

Absolute not! Actually, everyone who denies Jesus, is basing their life on naïve assumptions.

  • Who else has conquered sin, death, and evil, but Jesus? No one!
  • Who created this world and everything around us? Jesus did.
  • Who loved the World so much that he sent his only Son, Jesus, to save everyone who receives Him in faith? God did.
  • Who will one day return to earth to judge all evil and save everyone who now believes in Him? Jesus will!
  • So, don’t be discouraged, but stand firm, no matter how difficult and dark things may seem to be! Because, Jesus loves everyone who, in the midst of all difficulties and troubles, keep their eyes on Him and endure.

The Word of God says:

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Heb 13:8 ESV)

Jesus is the light of this world. He is the light from God shining into the darkness of this world. So many people live all their life in spiritual darkness. God loves the world so much that he gave his only son, Jesus for it. That includes you as well.
